Meadow care, the answer for a quality fleece

One cannot ignore the careful maintenance of pastures if the end product - the fleece- is to have any salable value. Plants such as thistles, stickers, seeds, with any form of threading capability with find their way into the fleece and create horrendous knots if allowed to grow along with the regular pasture grasses that the alpacas feed on.
There is limited substitute for weeding. One specific culprit i have a personal battle with right now is called I believe Yellow star thistle. This ugly little plant leaves in its wake stickers that just love to tangle fleece and needless to say the alpacas love rolling in it. However, being of the broadleaf family it can be eradicated with 'Clearwater SC132' and leave the meadow grasses intact.
More on this subject as I research further...
